Low consistency in community participation in physical activity remains a challenge in improving physical fitness and healthy living behaviour. Healthy walking is a simple form of exercise that is easy to perform, inexpensive, safe, and able to involve the wider community. This community service programme aimed to empower the community through a structured healthy-walking programme to improve physical fitness and awareness of healthy living in Suralaga. The method used a community-based participatory approach implemented through preparation, socialisation, healthy-walking activities, evaluation, and follow-up. The results showed that out of 75 registered participants, 68 attended the activity, with an attendance rate of 90.67%, and 64 participants completed the programme. The evaluation of participants’ understanding showed an increase in the average score from 62.60 in the pre-test to 85.40 in the post-test. These findings indicate that a structured healthy-walking programme can increase community participation, understanding, and awareness of the importance of regular physical activity. Similar programmes are recommended to be implemented sustainably through the support of village officials, health cadres, and community leaders.
