Abstract

The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Cultural Park Complex in Mataram is a center for arts and cultural activities, featuring various facilities such as an indoor theater, an arena theater, dance studios, music studios, and an art gallery. Each of these facilities requires a relatively high electricity supply to support performance activities, administration, and visitor comfort. Therefore, analyzing power consumption and electricity distribution is crucial to ensure efficient energy use and ensure continuity of service.

This research was conducted using a literature review approach, limited field observations, and load demand simulations based on the operational characteristics of each building. Simulation data indicates that the indoor theater consumes the highest power consumption, with a total load of 30 kW, consisting of 20 kW of stage lighting, a 5 kW sound system, and 5 kW of air conditioning. The arena theater follows with a total load of 17 kW, including lighting, sound systems, and other needs. Meanwhile, the offices, dance studios, music studios, and art gallery each require 2 kW of power. The total electricity consumption of the entire complex is estimated at 53 kW.

The analysis results show that with a supply capacity from PLN of 100 kVA (≈80 kW at cos φ 0.8), the power needs at the NTB Cultural Park can still be met without experiencing a supply shortage. However, under certain conditions such as large-scale performance activities, the electricity load can increase significantly so that a priority load management strategy and backup supply through a generator set are required. Priority loads are assigned to closed theaters and arena theaters, while non-priority loads include studios and galleries. This strategy is expected to be able to maintain the continuity of cultural activities without disrupting the efficiency of energy consumption.
